Abstract
The project has student's experiences of the transition between primary and secondary education as the main focus. The spotlight is on the students' expectations of their own learning in high school, how they experience the transition the initial time and opportunities for further development in high school. We want to focus attention on their parents and other significant adult individuals opportunities to be supporters of the student in the transition between primary and secondary school, and how students look at the adult supporters.
Formative assessment using digital portfolios in The Elective Program and The Depth Study Project will be tools in the project. The students experience of working with digital portfolios and how parents are included in this work is ensentral part of the research area. Two primary schools and two secondary schools participating in the project.
Development of digital literacy and the use of digital portfolios are priority areas for R & D at these schools. We use qualitative methods to shed light on the field and use us both structured questionnaire and interview. Both pupils, parents, teachers and students will be informants to ensure diversity in the material.
At the same time, we follow four pupils from primary school continue to vocational program as case studies throughout the project
Methods of data collection is personal interview, questionnaire survey and focus calls. Analyse units is individuals and groups.
Data consists of:
- Charting 2007 (students: survey with with open answers)
- Charting 2008 (parents + teachers: survey)
- Interview 2008 (students: transcribed interviews)
