Abstract

This dataset contains the files related to a survey investigating the needs and practices of Belgian social science researchers in terms of research data management. The survey took place within the framework of the Social Sciences Data Archive (SODA) project, which aims to set up a data archive for social sciences that will also act as a CESSDA (Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives) service provider in Belgium.

Sampling procedure

Potential respondents were identified by conducting a review of university and research center websites. Project partners also shared their knowledge of the research community in social sciences in Belgium and indicated key entities that should be included in the list of recipients for the questionnaire.

The list of recipient research centers can be found at the very end of the survey report, which is included in this dataset.

An email was sent to both the general email address of the research centers / to the research centers' secretaries and to the heads of the research centers. The email presented the SODA project, the SODA survey and included a link to the questionnaire available on SurveyMonkey.
