Abstract

Voting behaviour and political attitudes. Topics: Source of information about elections and political parties; personal interest in the elections; honest and fair elections; reasons for taking part in the elections; influence of the election campaign on the 2000 Parliamentary Elections and respondent’s voting; most successful campaign; best political communication; evaluation of the election campaign concerning the dialog between political rivals, promises in campaign, usefulness of the campaign, access to media by oppositional and ruling parties as well as candidates, quality of campaign; membership in and feeling close to a political party; voting in the next elections; voting decision and reason for it, the most important about this election; voting if parties would go to elections separately; acceptable coalition partners to the party respondent vote for; most important social value and social problem; preferred degree of focus of the new government on the fight against criminal and corruption, spiritual renewal, increasing the military power and state security, war crimes punishment and cooperation with Den Haag, nature preservation, safeguarding of human rights and liberties, assuring the social justice and safety for everyone, improvement of the social position of women, stimulation of the population growth, support for Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, development of private entrepreneurship, decentralization of Croatia and regional development, Croatian membership in European Union, Croats and national minorities in Croatia, reduction of unemployment, protection of the dignity of the Croatian war of independence; political orientation; role of catholic church; respect for the authority in family, school and state; conflicts between different interest groups and public interest of the state; role of tradition and genuine values of the nation; respect the Christian moral standards, separate nation states; role of women in society; left-right self...
