Series

Community-based Mental Health Rehabilitation of Young Adults 2010-2012

The series contains qualitative data produced by the research project Client-centeredness in Community-based Mental Health Rehabilitation of Young Adults 2010-2012. The research focused on outpatient rehabilitation courses for young adults with serious mental health problems. Data archived at FSD contain different kinds of interactions. Some interactions happened 'naturally', that is, they would have taken place anyway (rehabilitation or multiagency team meetings) while other interactions were arranged specifically for the research (client and staff interviews).

Abstract

The data consist of transcripts of 11 group interviews conducted in Finland. The interview participants were staff members of outpatient rehabilitation units focusing on young adults suffering from serious mental disorders. The group interviews were conducted after the rehabilitation period of a client and again three months later when the follow-up period of the client who had participated in the rehabilitation had ended. Each client case was discussed: the starting point, progress during the rehabilitation period, plans for post-rehabilitation care, and how the client had fared after rehabilitation. Two researchers and 3-6 staff members participated in each group interview. The interviews lasted from one to three hours. The data have been anonymised. The dataset is only available in Finnish.
