Abstract
Living conditions, moral orientations, political orientations and
readiness for political conduct of young people. Topics: General
contentment with life (scale); self-classification of extent to which
grown-up; most important characteristics and characteristics of adults
as well as specification of those characteristics already attained
oneself; frequency of different concepts and views in comparison to
one´s family, circle of friends, colleagues as well as in comparison to
the entire population; trust in selected institutions such as trade
unions, church, judiciary, parties, Federal German Armed Forces, the
press, company, Federal Government, the police, the media, the Federal
Parliament and Greenpeace; local ties, ties to state as well as with
Germany; ignorance of politicians and feeling of political
effectiveness; political understanding and complexity of politics;
national pride; reasons for national pride; adequate consideration of
the interests of the GDR in the unification of Germany; possibilities
of learning about the people in the other part of Germany;
understanding of democracy (scale); personal advantages or
disadvantages from German unification; aspects of personal life
affected by unification and current satisfaction in these areas;
importance of selected character traits (scale); importance of areas of
life; postmaterialism scale; attitude to democracy in general and to
democracy in the Federal Republic; attitude to the idea of socialism
and to socialism in the GDR; detailed information on current and
earlier memberships as well as intensity of participation in the
activities of associations, clubs or initiatives; acceptance of
