Abstract

Health and safety at work. Topics: Branch of economy; daily working hours and number of hours each week; shift work; working on dangerous machines; health risks and accident risks from work and closer description of these risks; characterization of physical and psychological job stress; self-determination in organization of work and in work rhythm; adequate furnishing of place of work with machines and support of colleagues and superiors; piecework; occupational diseases or work accidents in the circle of colleagues; perceived jeopardy to personal health or safety from work; number of work accidents suffered oneself and recognized occupational disease; satisfaction with protection, hygiene and health conditions at work; necessary improvements to increase work efficiency; self-classification of knowledge about risks at work; participation in safety courses; presence of a safety official for one´s own job; possibility to express improvement recommendations in the areas safety, hygiene and health conditions; change of job for health reasons; perceived frequency of occupational diseases and work accidents in one´s country and at one´s place of work; company, government, EC or employee as primarily responsible for health protection at work; knowledge of EC activities for job safety and source of information about these activities; interest in additional information on maintenance of industrial health and safety standards; attitude to uniform legislation in the EC on maintenance of industrial health and safety standards; country with the most progressive legislation regarding maintenance of industrial health and safety standards; expected improvement in safety conditions at work from EC legislation.
