Abstract
At the beginning of 2015, the party secretaries of six of the Swedish parliamentary parties (plus the Feminist Initiative, which is the only party outside the Riksdag represented in the European Parliament) agreed to participate in and conduct an online survey among their party members. The study was administered by the Laboratory of Opinion Research (LORE) at the University of Gothenburg. When the survey closed on July 3, a total of 10,392 party members had responded. The response rate varies between 9.52% (Christian Democrats) and 17.59% (Social Democrats).
In the spring of 2022, the data file for SPMS 2015 was reworked to enable better possibilities of sharing data upon request. This entailed recoding of two variables (year of birth and year of entry into the party), as well as removal of all variables and response alternatives with free text fields. Below is a list of recoded and deleted variables. Further information can be found in the enclosed code books. The complete dataset is available with restricted access.
Recoded variables: Q1 and Q61
Removed variables: Q67_TEXT; Q28_TEXT; Q140_TEXT; Q144_TEXT; Q142_TEXT; Q17_7_TEXT; Q21_TEXT; Q23_1_TEXT_edited; Q23_1_TEXT; Q23_2_TEXT; Q44_1_TEXT; Q44_2_TEXT; Q44_3_TEXT; Q26_2_TEXT; Q26_3_TEXT; Q26_4_TEXT; Q83_7_TEXT; Q72_4_TEXT; corrected_postcode; postcode; Q134
The data is available as a STATA dataset (.dta) as well as coded comma-separated values (.csv).
