Abstract
The Dutch Local Election Study 2016 has been an enterprise of the Foundation of Electoral Studies in The Netherlands (Stichting Kiezers Onderzoek Nederland; SKON). The Dutch Local Election Study of 2016 was the first in a series of local surveys carried out under the auspices of the Dutch Electoral Research Foundation (SKON). It functioned as benchmark for future waves, collected in a year without nation-wide local elections. The first Dutch Local Election Study to coincide with elections would take place in 2018.
The data were collected within the LISS-panel collected by CentERdata. Several variables have been excluded from the public data file in order to protect the privacy of individual respondents. Examples are municipality, zip code and information that identifies the respondent or their region in the open answers. These variables are available for scientific purposes only at CentERdata.
