Abstract
The effects of public support measures on life in rural municipalities
and the company situation among farmers.
Topics: Changes in the municipality in the last 15 years; reasons for
these changes; local measures to improve infrastructure as well as
living and working conditions; judgement on individual measures;
attitude to reparcelling agricultural land and the farm for ethnic
Germans from Eastern Europe; judgement on the development of tourism in
the municipality; renting rooms to vacation guests; last vacation and
personal participation in a recuperation or health resort stay; leisure
activity; recommendations on village beautification; existence of
neighborhood help; participation in adult education events; manner and
extent of attendance of adult education centers; school degree of
parents.
Farmers were also asked: company size; changes in the company
conducted and planned; subsidies applied for or received; assessment of
the importance of subsidies; presence of business advisers; attitude to
industry-wide cooperation; membership in co-operatives; completion of
production and delivery contracts for agricultural products; assumed
consequences for one´s own company from integration of agriculture into
the EC; reading an agricultural technical journal; contact with other
farmers.
Demography: age (classified); sex; marital status; number of children;
religious denomination; school education; vocational training; further
education; occupation; professional position; employment; professional
career; household income; size of household; composition of household;
housing situation; social origins; possession of durable economic
goods; possession of assets; membership.
