Abstract

Political basic positions, political culture and political socialization of the population in the United Kingdom. Topics: 1.) Political conduct: political interest and political extent to which informed; political conversations and political participation; political alienation; most important political problems of the country; assessment of the effect of laws and opportunities to participate of the citizen on political decisions; expected political involvement of the individual; personal participation in and influence on local and national political decision-making processes; judgement on the political influence of individual special interest groups in the nation; evaluation of the duties of the citizen regarding his country; assessment of the effects of petitions and complaints; satisfaction with the government system; perceived national pride; judgement on the treatment experienced in contact with authorities; behavior at the polls in earlier elections at national and local level; decision difficulties before elections; attitude to election campaigns; image of the most important parties; party preference; party membership; religiousness. 2.) Socialization: distribution of decision-making authorities in one´s family; sanction conduct of parents in one´s family and teachers in school; judgement on personal influence on the family before the 16th year of life; attitude to a right to a say for the children in one´s family; judgement on the political education experienced in school; personal interest and interest of teachers in politics. Scale: democratic attitude. Interviewer rating: social class affiliation and willingness of respondent to cooperate; ability of respondent to express himself; interview surroundings; city size; race of respondent.
