The aims of this study are:
to provide information on the physical condition of Scotland's housing in both the public and the private sector;
to assess the need for improvement and repair;
to quantify and cost this need;
to establish a national picture of house conditions;
to derive a socio-economic profile of households;
to identify areas for further policy development.
