Study title

Statistics Norway carried out holiday and outdoor recreation surveys in 1968, 1970 and 1974 on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment. The surveys were later followed up in 1978/-79, 1982 and 1986, but without the section on outdoor life. The purpose of the surveys was then only to survey the population's holiday habits and holiday behaviour. In the surveys, holiday trips were recorded in relation to season, destination, means of transport, accommodation, journey duration, distance, nature, holiday activities, etc. Days off, holiday arrangements and the duration of the main holiday for working people, forms of holiday and the background and justification for these were also recorded. There is data on outdoor life issues in Statistics Norway's omnibus surveys in November/December 1993 and in September 1996. Statistics Norway also carried out a holiday survey in 1999, where parts of the sample had also taken part in the survey in 1986. This file contains the data for the 1982 Holiday Survey.
