Abstract
Moral concepts, interests, desires and social understanding of young
people. Topics: Major problems of young people; identification as young
people or adults and desire for rapidly becoming adult; fear of the
future; identification with social groups and initiatives; judgement on
the future of society; expected future developments and future problems
of society as well as of the economy; models and idols; vegetarian food
or meat as preferred form of nutrition; interest in technology; trust
in selected social groups, governmental institutions and organizations;
judgement on statements about politics, privatization, difference of
the generations, anomy, conformity and self-assertion (scales);
interest in politics; media usage for information about political
events and judgement on credibility of the media; self-assessment of
political knowledge; participation at the last election and party
preference; general judgement on selected values and expected existence
of these values in the future; preferred leisure activities;
memberships in clubs and organizations; most important criteria for
involvement in clubs and organizations; assessment of the significance
of political issues; expected disturbance of one´s own development from
political problems; judgement on selected forms of political
involvement and personal participation in such political actions;
characterization of selected persons and group representatives through
a semantic differential: (Viva moderator, young party member, animal
protector, Rave party organizer, youth representative in the trade
union, demonstration organizer); essential components of a democracy;
knowledge of the parties currently represented in the Federal
Parliament as well as knowledge of the name of the foreign minister and
the prime minister of one´s state as knowledge test about political
facts. Also encoded were: length of interview; place of interview;
polite or familiar form of address; sex of interviewer.
