Abstract
The research project focused on informal learning by taking the two most different types of work relevant competence : general competence, which is the easiest transferable between tasks , and job -specific skills that are specifically targeted at a particular job in a particular business. However, we have limited empirical knowledge of the meta- competencies that are important and the factors that contribute to informal learning of these two types of expertise . Project was therefore aimed at specifying and operationalize these types of skills , identify social and job -related factors that can be expected to promote or inhibit the development of these types of skills and test putative relationships empirically. Any differences and similarities in the way the two types of skills developed on, thus providing a good understanding of informal learning processes. Such knowledge can help businesses to design organizations and workplaces with good learning conditions . Such knowledge can also help individual employees to seek learning contexts that contribute to the development of an appropriate skills profile .
