Abstract

Student survey (not all variables also in 2nd survey, different order) Topics: Cultural participation: Instruments at home, musical activities in leisure time, musical activities at school, situational contexts of making music, receptive media use, interactive media use, informal music learning, lessons on one or more instruments, JeKi participation during primary school, visits to cultural events, attitudes towards music, significance of music at home, musical preferences, other leisure activities, participation in a music class, type of music class. Capabilities / functionings / well-being: subjective well-being index, satisfaction with musical possibilities, music-related well-being, significance of music in life, greatest music-related desire. Transfer: parental educational and supportive behavior, parental support, active family life, transfer to instrumental play, joy at school, willingness to help. Psychosomatic complaints: general well-being, pain; musical self-concept. Questionnaire for recording emotional and social school experiences (FEESS): social integration, class climate, self-concept of school ability (SIKS); school attitude, willingness to work hard, joy of learning, feeling of acceptance (SALGA). Demography: gender, age (year of birth, month of birth), possession of wealth, possession of books, persons in the household, migration background child/mother/father. Additionally coded: School; student ID; ID class; time of survey (month, year). Parent Survey Topics: School-related variables: Satisfaction with school, assessment of different characteristics of school, desired school leaving certificate for child, visits to the child´s school; educational and supportive behavior (general/music).
