Abstract

The research gathered and analyzed the objective indexes on activity of new municipalities in Slovenia (e.g.: activities of municipality's bodies, cadre policy, work contents of municipality's bodies, cooperation with other municipalities). With self-completed survey send over mail to mayors, deputy mayors, presidents, vice presidents of municipality councils, secretaries and representatives of bigger local communities, the research team gathered opinions on problems of establishing new municipalities. Survey showed that the process of constructing new municipalities will continue in the future. The comparison of the opinions between different representatives showed that mostly representatives of smaller municipalities the most critically evaluate municipality reform. They speak in favor of cooperation between municipalities or even merging with each other. On opposite, the representatives from bigger municipalities are very restraining about this idea. In their opinion, bigger cooperation among the residents of new municipalities is the proof, that the reform for new municipalities has been successful. The research gathered and analyzed the objective indexes on activity of new municipalities in Slovenia (e.g.: activities of municipality's bodies, cadre policy, work contents of municipality's bodies, cooperation with other municipalities).
