Abstract

European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) is a study that determines the health status of the population, the health-related lifestyle and the frequency of using different health services. It is based on interviews on a representative sample of inhabitants of Slovenia aged 15 years or over. Questions include dental, physical and mental health, physical limitations of activity, use of health services and medicines, lifestyle (diet, physical activity, smoking, alcohol consumption). Thus, an overview of health of the population can be created, which allows identification of priority areas when creating future programs for improving the health of the population. Slovenia specific questions were added to the questionnaire. The survey was carried out in Slovenia for the first time in 2007. It is supposed to be carried out every 5 years. When using the data, it is recommended to follow the questionnaire closely, as it contains many leaps and conditions.
