Abstract

In this project a retrospective survey was carried out in order to map out prognoses for operable lung cancer, especially concerning biological markers such as histology, degree, phase, DNA-ploidi and occurrence/amount of a core protein, p53, which has a connection with mutation in a growth regulating gene. Significant variables for prognosis were age, phase and occurrence of p53 protein, whereof protein was the strongest prognostic predicator. The survey includes 112 patients and covers the time period from 1975 to 1986.
