Abstract

This study was conducted on the basis of the research collaboration in "The International Social Survey Program" (ISSP). ISSP is an international organization with members in 44 countries (per 2022) that prepares and coordinates annual interview surveys in member countries, mainly in the fields of political science and sociology. Themes for the surveys vary, but the same theme is repeated every few years so that it becomes possible to measure both changes in action patterns and attitudes over time, as well as differences between different countries and cultures. NSD - Norwegian Center for Research Data AS (NSD), now Sikt - Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research, became a member of ISSP in 1989 and has been responsible for conducting the surveys in Norway since then. The ISSP "Family and Changing Gender Roles" has been implemented in 1994, 2002, 2012 and 2022.
