Abstract
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) awarded Kantar Public the contract to conduct the research project "Survey on Continuing Education Behaviour in Germany 2020" according to the concept of the Adult Education Survey (AES). Based on survey-supported information on participation in education in adulthood, the research project provides information for education monitoring and for the specialist scientific public. In addition to the collection and provision of data, the project also includes the analysis of the data in the form of a BMBF trend report.
Due to the high demands on data quality, the AES 2020 was conducted in a sequential mixed-mode design as a computer-assisted personal interview (CAPI) and as a computer-assisted web interview (CAWI) on the basis of a (sufficiently large) random sample from the registers.
Due to the need for information on education policy in the context of the Corona pandemic, Kantar Public was commissioned by the BMBF to expand the scope of the AES 2020 questionnaire.
