Statistics Norway has since 1996 conducted surveys on working conditions (1996, 2000, 2003 and 2006), housing, community and leisure (1997, 2001, and 2004) and health (1998, 2002 and 2005). As of 2003, the panel study altered to be included in EU-SILC (Statistics on Income and Living Conditions), a collaboration organized by Eurostat. Abstract

The Level of living EU SILC, 2012 is conducted by Statistics Norway. This is the second time The Level of Living Survey is subordinate to the the European Union through Survey on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC). The reason for this organization is a requirement under the EEA Agreement, and SSB thus cover international obligations for data delivery. The surveys bills have a three-year cycle, where different topics are addressed each year. In 2012 there was a particular focus on housing and living conditions, and exposure and fear of crime. It was pulled a sample of 11387 people in Norway over 16 years. Respondents constitute a panel to be followed up in 2015. The purpose of living surveys is primarily to obtain information about living conditions. Through the rotating themes the surveys also provide useful information in other areas. In addition, the panel execution provides consecutive information by respondents as they are interviewed several times.
