Croatia and the European Union.Topics: attitude towards the following statements: respondent enjoys living in Croatia, confident about the future of Croatia, familiarity with the EU, EU contributes to peace and stability in Europe, Croatians and EU citizens share the same values, Croatia’s future should be in the EU, Croatia’s participation in the Schengen Agreement would be a positive development, Croatia’s adoption of the euro would be positive for its economy; benefits from the EU membership and reasons for benefit; attitude towards selected statements on the EU membership of Croatia: improvement of economy, reduction of corruption, loss of control over national policies, increase of prices, increase of standard of living, loss of jobs, more tourism, reduction of national disparities, loss of national identity, more business investments, negative impact on national agriculture; self-rated knowledge about: EU, EU accession process of Croatia, financial assistance from the EU prior to joining, financial assistance from the EU after joining; awareness of selected issues: role of the member states within the governance of the EU, fact that Croatia will designate an EU commissioner, rights of citizens to elect the members of the European Parliament; EU country respondent feels closest to; preferred countries to join the EU; travels outside Croatia in the past five years; travels to selected countries in the past five years; main reason for not traveling outside Croatia in the past five years; preferred source of information about current affairs; frequency of the reception of news on current affairs; trust in information from: local media, national media, international media; preferred source of information about the EU.
