Abstract
Relation between different radio- and tv-current affairs programmes and their audiences in a period before parliamentary elections. Acquaintance with current affairs programmes / frequency of watching, listening / image of current affairs programmes / detailed evaluation of current affairs programmes of four different broadcasting companies / political information by newspapers, radio and tv / best and worst broadcasting company / familiarity with commentators / remembrance of news items / talking about news with others / political interest with respect to many issues / political preference: motives / social, political standpoints / confidence in politics and society in general / attention of mass media to politics: quantity and reliability / various questions regarding: abortion, foreign workers, immigrants from Surinam, drugs and other social, political problems. Background variables: basic characteristics/ residence/ household characteristics/ occupation/employment/ income/capital assets/ education/ social class/ politics/ religion/ readership, mass media, and 'cultural' exposure/ organizational membership
