Abstract
The dataset contains mainly data on crimes in Amsterdam committed between 1850 and 1944. Data on offences and data on accused and condemned people are available from the Ordinary District Court (Arrondissements Rechtbank) and from the Police (Official Reports of the Police). A comparison is made between Amsterdam and some other large towns in the Netherlands.
