Abstract

Purpose of the study was to contribute to understanding of the relation between parenthood and paid work in Slovenia. Its goals were: to gain the newest data concerning use of parental leave; to analyze relation between parenthood and possibilities for employment and career; to form prepositions for harmonizing parents’ family commitments and work obligations. Questionnaire for parents covered: a) demographic data of youth and their partners, their family conditions and employment circumstances; b) different types of parental leaves; c) different types of childcare; d) problems at harmonizing parental/private commitments and professional obligations.
