Abstract

Abstract copyright UK Data Service and data collection copyright owner.

To establish:-
(i) the pattern (spatial and environmental) of private sector afforestation
(ii) the effects in terms of employment
(iii) the effects in terms of land use
(iv) possible differences between sub-sectors of the private sector
Main Topics:
Variables
Plantation size, composition, land type; previous land use, land uses displaced; employment levels; owner and manager type.
The depositors emphasise that the dataset is unlikely to be 100% accurate and comprehensive. It is posible that some 'afforesters' have been omitted, and that the area of afforestation is less than 10ha in some cases
