Abstract
The background for the project was to study which effects the new reforms in elementary school has had on teaching- and educational activity during the first years of schooling. One has aimed at saying something about the degree of which central goals for early education actually are met through the comprehension of the individual teacher. The project is divided into three areas: early education, general, Norwegian and math. The survey focuses especially on early education in plans and official documents, influential sources, reading- and writing education, curriculum as a management tool and differences between different types of schools. A postal questionnaire was carried through on a sample of teachers in Møre og Romsdal who were form master in the 1. - 3rd grade, or leader of a service for 6-year olds. Gross sample 593, net sample 254. A couple of in-depth interviews were also carried out.
