Abstract

"The Impact of Social Media on Election Campaigns: Cross-National and Cross-Media Comparisons, 2016" studied the importance of social media in election campaigns in four democratic countries: USA, Australia, Norway and Sweden. How social media influences politics, voters and the media was analyzed. The aim was to compare the countries in relation to political cultures, the role of the media, and to look at the interaction between established media and social media.
