Mikrocensus

The microcensus has been carried out since the 1970s and has been repeatedly adapted to changing circumstances over time. The last major reform took place in 2014.

Abstract

This Mikrozensus special survey contains questions on the equipment of households with electric appliances, environmental conditions of housing and the need of repair of the apartment, the existence of holiday apartments or houses, new purchases, the existence of vehicles and season tickets for public transport, indicators for holiday- and spare time habits, financial backup, net income. The survey mainly follows the Mikrozensus survey from June 1979 (Mikrozensus MZ7902) on the equipment with vehicles and machines and offers the possibility to gather information on the material living conditions of the Austrian population (an their change over time). This survey offers a first time change to compare the inquired indicators for living standard and financial backup with the household income.
