Abstract

The survey Family, social subjects and life-cycle, which is part of an integrated system of social surveys - the ISTAT Multiscopo - is the main statistical source on family structure and social characteristics of families. In particular, it examines the following topics: - life cycle; - relationships within the family; - network of relationships with relatives, friends and neighbourhood; - family support received and help given to people not living in the family; - child care; - life as a couple and first wedding; - permanence of young adults in the family and their intention to leave the family; - plan on having children; - social mobility; - household’s economy and domestic work; - family traditions; - care services for the family; - connection with labour market and job search; - job careers; - characteristics of the house. The expected sample of the survey amount to 32,585 individuals, the real sample amount to 24,753 individuals.
