Abstract

The primary objective of the project was to map perceptions concerning immigrants from third world countries amongst adult Norwegians living in Bergen. At large, the project was a comparative study between adult Norwegians and Germans' attitudes towards immigrants in their respective countries. The project focused on opinions concerning how immigrants should adapt, what rights they should have, and which stereotypes the national population held towards immigrants. The project was initiated by the German professor Gunter Bierbrauer of the University of Osnabrük.
