Abstract

Nanzi and Death told by Roy Colastica, recorded on video for the Anansi Masters project in Curacao. The storyteller Roy Colastica (or 'Rói' or 'Roland') was the presentor of the Anansi Masters storytelling event on Curacao. Due to his obligations as Master of Ceremony, he was not able to be interviewed after his story.Subject: Why nobody dies in Nanzi storiesDescription: Nanzi outwits his friend DeathContent: Nanzi and Death are good friends. Therefore they can always count on each other. Between the two, there is only one important difference. While Nanzi is extremely poor, Death is rich and powerful and leads a life of luxury. Counting on their friendship, Nanzi asks Death for help when he and his family have nothing left to eat. Of course Death will help him.
