Abstract

Statistics Norway conducted health surveys in 1968, 1975, 1985 and 1995. In 1996 Statistics Norway changed to "Level of Living Surveys" with rotating topics. For the "Health Survey 1985" the topics are housing and living conditions, family and upbringing, labor and employment, and of course health and diseases. The purpose of the survey was to obtain information on health conditions, and thus develop the national health statistics. Through the continuity of the investigations, it was possible to measure changes over time. In 1985 the selection consisted of a gross sample of 13,438 individuals in Norway.
