Abstract
Abstract copyright UK Data Service and data collection copyright owner.
The main objectives were:
to assess changes that have taken place since the first Company Level Industrial Relations Survey in 1985 (Study not available via the UK Data Archive.)
to investigate how employee relations fits in with broader policy making
to explore the relationship between employee relations policy and financial control mechanisms
to consider the implications on employee relations policy and practice of the fact that many UK enterprises are ultimately overseas owned, and that many have overseas subsidiaries.
Data from interviews at European head offices in 26 overseas-owned companies have been withheld until initial analysis is complete.
