The purpose of this study was to:
extend the <i>British General Election Study</i> to Northern Ireland (the <i>British General Election Study, 1992</i> is held at The Data Archive under study number 2981)
provide longitudinal comparisons with previous work in the same area, namely Rose (1971) and Moxon-Browne (1983)
provide, for the first time, an attitudinal survey `locked into' a specific general election
to compare social attitudes in Northern Ireland and Britain.
