Abstract

This dataset stems from the survey "Working Environment 2010: Work-Related Destructive Behaviour". The survey was conducted by Statistics Norway and commissioned by Bergen Bullying Research Group and Department of Sociopsychology at the University of Bergen. The purpose of the survey is to map out the extent of bullying and destructive behaviour in Norwegian work situations. The origin, cause and consequences of bullying are important issues that the survey seek to elucidate. That is done by examining Norwegian employees' perception of their work, their social working environment and the interaction with colleagues and leaders. The objective is to improve our understanding of the effect the working environment has on individuals' health, well-being and personality. The surveys also gives a measure of the extent of different types of destructive behaviour in Norwegian work places (sexual harassment, conflicts and destructiv leadership as well as bullying). Furthermore, the scope and consequences of whistle-blowing are touched upon. The survey has panel characteristics and have been conducted three times over a period of six years - 2005-2010. First time the survey was conducted was in 2005, second time in 2007, and this dataset stems from the third and final survey in 2010. The reason for following the same persons at three different points of time over a period of six years is to observe development over time regarding the above-mentioned research questions.
