Abstract
Social-structural determinants of school success. The attitude to
school, the school situation, achievement demands and readiness for
achievement from the view of schoolchildren.
Topics: The investigation consists of 3 parts: 1. Popularity and
grades of subjects; self-assessment of capability of personal level of
achievement, achievement development and satisfaction with personal
achievement in relation to class average (scale); assessment of factors
for school success; possibility to work on homework undisturbed and
coaching by parents; average homework time; interest of parents in
school questions and satisfaction with school achievements; frequency
of parental criticism of school achievements and personal attitude to
non-fulfillment of parental expectations; tutoring; type and frequency
of sanctions by parents and classmates; assumed level of standard of
one´s own capability by parents, classmates and teachers; membership in
teams and clubs or youth organizations; education goal and occupation
plans; leisure contacts; neglecting homework due to friendships; school
achievements and sexual problems; preferred teacher image; conduct
regarding teachers; characterization of class association and personal
role in class; main focus of interests outside of school and conflicts
with school and parents resulting from this; participation in
demonstrations and difficulties arising from this; judgement on one´s
school; attitude to school; number of schools attended; attending
boarding school; grades repeated; personally earning money through
part-time job; available pocket-money; dealing with money; attitude to
fashion; attitude to self-responsiblity of young people; family
tensions; satisfaction with personal upbringing; time expended on the
