Slovene Public Opinion Survey

Slovenian Public Opinion (SJM) survey series closely resembles the type of General Social Surveys, well known in other countries. The aim is to provide the scientific community with relevant data about changes in subjective perceptions and attitudes of general population. The topics, which are repeated each year, beginning with 1968, are evaluations of general and economic situation in society, interethnic relations in Slovenia and Yugoslavia, politics, ecology and religion. Abstract

National Security and International Relations survey compared different aspect of national and European/International peace and security factors: peace and security in the World (threats to international security, factors that promote peace, development trends in Europe, and pae-European military forces), peace and security in Slovenia (threats to Slovenian security, protection of independence and sovereignty, role of Slovene armed forces in protection of peace in Europe), national security system (size of Slovene armed forces, financing, role of armed forces in adopting political decisions, instruction of officers, NATO, etc.), and security culture (readiness for sacrifice, patriotism, extent of military tradition, and peace movements).
