Abstract
Educational pathways of young adults, career biography, school achievement, choice of school, choice of occupation, family background, young people´s application behaviour, initial vocational training; education and waiting loops, transition system, migration background, first threshold.
I. Topics: value orientation (importance of selected values (diligence and ambition, religiosity, high income, cultivated appearance, career, professional independence, learning and further training, life partner, own children, interesting occupation, good friends and much spare time); primary school time: month and year of the beginning of the primary school; month and year of the end of the primary school; self-assessment of the school achievements; retrospective evaluation of the school time from the tenth year of life (scale: liked going to school, got along well with the teachers, discussed school problems with the parents, understanding with the classmates, liked to do homework, teachers´ efforts to impart curriculum subjects, exciting lessons, fun learning, parents expected efforts for the school); activities and functions during school time (e.g. school or class representatives, club or party activities, etc.).
Demography: age (month of birth, year of birth); sex; country of birth; childhood and youth spent in Germany; year of moving to Germany; permanent residence in Germany since moving in; length of stay in Germany; German as mother tongue; other mother tongue (bilingualism); nationality; own children; number of own children; household composition; information on parents: origin of parents from Germany or country of birth (migration background); cohabitation with the father and mother or with step, foster or adoptive parents up to the age of 15; parents´ school leaving certificate; completed vocational training or study of parents and type of training; employment status of father and mother when the respondent was 15 years old or previous employment status of father...
