Abstract

The data stored here includes behavioral data, primarily kinematic (e.g., reaction times, duration), and neuropsychological data (e.g., working memory, cognitive planning, fine motor skills), as well as functional brain imaging data (fMRI) in the form of contrast files. A contrast file is opened using software compatible with the Neuroimaging Informatics Technology Initiative (NIfTI) format. Data has been collected within the framework of a project (CHAMP) investigating goal-directed manual sequential movements in autistic and neurotypical individuals.

Universe

The population involves neurotypical adults (18-40 years), children/youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD, 12-16 years) and neurotypical children/youth (12-16 years). The children/youth will be assessed at a second time point 1 year after the first (longitudinal approach).

Sampling procedure

The children with ASD are recruited through records from the Habilitation Centre, Region Västerbotten, Sweden. The neurotypical children and adults are recruited through advertisements in the Umeå region and by convenience sampling.

Data collection mode

Data collected within the project are based on neuropsychological measures (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, Fourth Edition; WAIS-IV; Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Fifth Edition, WISC-V; Corsi Block-Tapping Test; Delis-Kaplan Executive Functions System, D-KEFS, Tower test; Grooved Pegboard Test), measures of autistisc traits (Autism Spectrum Quotient, AQ); functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI); structural MR (Diffustion Tensor Imaging, DTI; Synthetic MR, SyMR).
