Abstract

This dataset is derived from the survey "A digital childhood - an analysis of children's use and experiences with ICT, 2002" that was conducted by SINTEF. The survey sought to map out the usage of new media technologies amongst Norwegian children between 7-12 years old: In 2nd, 5th, 6th and 7th grade. Pupils from six schools in Oslo answered a questionnaire about habits concerning games, PC, internet, cell phones, TV and leisure activities such as sports, drawing and reading. Also, the questionnaire contained parameters about friendships, social competence and performance. The questionnaire for the youngest children, in 2nd grade, were filled out by their parents. These parents were given supplementary questions about attitudes towards childrens' use of new media technologies.
