Statistics Norway conducted health surveys in 1968, 1975, 1988 and 1995. Abstract

Statistics Norway conducted health surveys in 1968, 1975, 1988 and 1995. The purpose of the surveys has been to develope health statistics with information about the prevalence of diseases and injuries, and the effect this has on the persons physical activity, identify the contact and the use of public health care, the burden for relatives, mental health and the relationship illness and social conditions. In 1995 there was three different questionnaires for children under 15 years, persons in the age of 16-79 years and persons over 80 years. In addition, there was a questionnaire that the interviewees between 14-79 years answered by themselves. Connected registry data was originally from 1994, but was later updated with data from 1995. From 1997 the collection of health data is fully integrated in the new arrangements for collection of data on living conditions.
