Dafür wurden 712 ICT-Schulverantwortliche und 1322 Lehrpersonen aus der Deutschschweiz und der Romandie befragt. Die Studie umfasst alle Schulstufen, von der Primarstufe bis zur Sekundarstufe II (Gymnasium, FMS/DMS, Berufsbildung). Sie ermöglicht Aussagen über die Entwicklungen seit der letzten Erhebung im Jahr 2001 und erfasst damit die Entwicklung seit der Lancierung der Initiative "Public Private Partnership - Schule im Netz" (PPP-SiN). In dieser Initiative wurden über 200 Millionen Franken in die technische Infrastruktur und in die Ausbildung von Lehrpersonen investiert.
