In this dataset, we collected measures of need for privacy and personality. The aim was to determine how personality can predict and explain why specific people need privacy. The measures of privacy were based on existing scales; some items were developed anew; and some items were adapted. Personality was measured using the HEXACO Personality Inventory. The data consist of 1598 respondents from the United States. The sample was quota sampled in terms of age, gender, and ethnicity.
