Pseudosigns dataset Pseudosigns dataset doi:10.17026/SS/4UJXIF E. Ormel 2013 DANS Data Station Social Sciences and Humanities NON-VERBAL LANGUAGEArts and HumanitiesSocial Sciences This dataset consists of 205 videos of 'pseudosigns' that were originally created for experimental use with signers of Dutch Sign Language or NGT (Nederlandse Gebarentaal). A file with the list of all video filenames is also included. Each pseudosign has the length and prosody of a regular NGT sign, but had no lexical meaning in NGT when the videos were created (in 2013). Note that the development of these stimuli was influenced by the work and authors of the following study: Emmory, K., Borinstein, H. B., Thompson, R., & Gollan, T. H. (2008). Bimodal bilingualism.
