An ama (an acronym for Alleenstaande Minderjarige Asielzoeker; solitary underage asylum seeker) is someone that comes at an age of 17 years or younger to the Netherlands as an asylum seeker, without guidance of a legally adult representative. This project involves an inventory research of the situation preceding the implementation of the new ama policy of January 2001.
