      <abstract xml:lang="en">&lt;P&gt;Abstract copyright UK Data Service and data collection copyright owner.&lt;/P&gt;</abstract><abstract xml:lang="en">The &lt;I&gt;Lives of Young Carers in England, 2015-2016: TNS Omnibus Survey Data&lt;/I&gt; formed part of a programme of research designed to help inform the implementation of the 2015 Care Act requiring local authorities to identify and assess the support needs of any young carer – no matter how much or what type of care they provide.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; The study consisted of: &lt;br&gt; &lt;li&gt;I. A survey of parents of young carers aged five to 17, together with an interview with the young carer themselves if they were aged 11 or over; and&lt;br&gt; &lt;li&gt;II.A ‘comparison survey’ of parents of all children aged five to 17, again together with a young person’s interview if they were aged 11 or over.&lt;br&gt; The surveys were conducted as part of the TNS Face to Face Omnibus survey.
