Aluksi tiedusteltiin haastateltavien omaa suhdetta burleskiin kysymällä esimerkiksi, miten on tutustunut burleskiin sekä mitä burleski heille merkitsee. Lisäksi pyydettiin kuvailemaan omaa burleskipersoonaa tai -hahmoa sekä sitä, millaisia teemoja ja aiheita käsittelee esityksissään. Seuraavaksi tiedusteltiin burleskissa ilmenevästä sukupuolikuvastosta. Haastateltavilta kysyttiin muun muassa näkyykö sukupuoli heidän esityksissään, liittyykö sukupuolen esittämiseen haasteita, haastaako burleski perinteisiä sukupuolikäsityksiä sekä miten burleskissa käsitellään toksisia representaatioita sukupuolista ja kehoista. Lisäksi kehollisuuteen liittyen keskusteltiin esimerkiksi kehopositiivisuudesta, kehokriittisyydestä, ulkonäköpaineista sekä siitä mikä merkitys kehollisuudella on burleskissa. Taustamuuttujia ovat sukupuoli, kauanko tehnyt burleskia sekä ikä.The data consists of interviews with Finnish burlesque performers, in which the interviewees talk about their own relationship with burlesque and how gender and embodiment are presented in burlesque. First, the interviewees were asked about their own relationship with burlesque, asking them, for example, how they became acquainted with burlesque and what burlesque means to them. They were also asked to describe their own burlesque persona or character and what kinds of themes and topics they cover in their performances. Next, they were asked about the gender representation in burlesque.
