        <universe xml:lang="en" clusion="I">Residents aged 18 years and older living in private households in five flood-prone communities in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, that were affected by major flooding events (2002, 2013) and a subsequent dike relocation project. One adult per household (selected using the next-birthday method) was surveyed using a standardized questionnaire. Inclusion criteria were permanent residence in the defined hazard zones according to 50-year and 100-year flood hazard maps at the time of data collection (July 2021).</universe>
