To provide information of value primarily in planning the organisational and locational structure of tertiary institutions, by means of individual time budget diaries and questionnaires collected from the members of such an institution and designed to elicit the importance and perceived obligation attached to their various activities.</abstract><abstract xml:lang="en">&lt;B&gt;Main Topics&lt;/B&gt;:&lt;BR&gt;</abstract><abstract xml:lang="en">Attitudinal/Behavioural Questions&lt;br&gt; Length of residence in London, frequency of cultural/entertainment visits, location of respondent's convenience shopping, assessment of accessibility of grocery shops/central area shops/West End cinemas and theatres - from college, rating of college area amenities, frequency of use/attendance of university facilities, frequency family/friends brought to college. Type of college applied to (with reasons), use of libraries, value of Bedford College/the City of London to work (i.e. research and study), attendance of events at other colleges and institutions and personal contact with other bodies, e.g. government, industrial, commercial. Nature of research and publications (where applicable). Unbroken chronological record of all events of the previous day (24 hours): description of activities, locations, participants and perceived obligations or other constraints.&lt;br&gt; Background Variables&lt;br&gt; Age, sex, marital status, place of birth, place of residence (type and amenities in area), number of persons in household (self-supporting/non-self-supporting, school age/pre-school age). Years of formal education since 15th birthday, type of school attended, type of area brought up in. Occupation (respondent and spouse): affiliation (see Population below), department, hours per week, number of paid jobs outside college. Income.
